The Mushroom Conservatory

MIgardener Mushroom Log & Plug Spawn Making Workshop – May 4 @ 2pm

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and join Erin Hamilton from The Mushroom Conservatory at MIgardener for an afternoon of mushroom cultivation.

Learn the process of creating your mushroom plug spawn and see a live demo of how to put mushroom plugs into a log, setting you up for seasons of fruitful harvests right in your own backyard.

To avoid everyone having to transport logs all over the place, you will be making plug spawn (what you need to start your logs) and taking it home with you to set up your own logs.

In addition to making plug spawn, we will go over how to pick and prepare the best logs for success, and how to care for them. You will have your choice from several varieties of mushroom that you could make plugs for during the workshop – shiitake, oyster, lions mane and turkey tail will all be options.
